Teen Events at Fredricksen
Christine Davies, Teen Services Coordinator
Hello Fredricksen Teens! Spring seems to have finally arrived - the birds are back, early spring flowers are about to bloom and awesome spring activities are happening at the library. We have a DIY craft program - Can Tab Bracelets - on Sunday, April 7th, taught by our own TAG member Maaha. May 5th we will learn to make paper beads which can be used in loads of differant projects from jewelry to book marks to gift wrapping embellishments. It's a fun altered book art project and a creative reuse of old book pages.
Do you ever find yourself lounging in our Teen area and think "wow, I really love this place" or "wow, I would totally decorate this differently"? Then maybe you should join TAG (Teen Advisory Group). TAG meets once a month to plan programs and events, to help choose things to add to the Young Adult collection and to create the Teen Space. If you are interested in joining we meet again on Tuesday, April 23rd and Tuesday, May 21st. Be a part of the future of teen life @ Fredricksen.
And in case you missed March's Build 'Em, Smash 'Em event you should know that a record was set when we had two structures withstand 14 pounds of sand without smashing. Even 30 pounds of Harry Potter books couldn't take them out! It was epic.
My door is always open to you. Can’t wait to see you all at the library!
Mrs. Davies
