She also gets involved in a Romeo and Juliet romance, trades barbs with a business tycoon and tries to find a missing teenager. Join us for our discussion of Fire Sale by Sara Paretsky in the upper level tutor room. Publisher’s Weekly says that this book is “packed with social themes and moral energy and held together by humor, compassion and feistiness, and it shows why this character and her author are such enduring figures in American detective fiction.”

Educated at Yale University and William & Mary Law School, Alan is the author of The Obama Revolution and Denial and Deception: A Study of the Bush Administration’s Rhetorical Case for Invading Iraq. His writings have also appeared in The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Washington Post, and the Huffington Post. The Obama Revolution has been featured in the Patriot-News and the Sentinel. Alan lives in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

With our stressful lives, it’s important to take care of ourselves so that we can lead a long happy life. One way to ward off potential problems is to have your blood pressure checked regularly. Come to the Simpson Public Library on the 1st Tuesday of each month as trained representatives from Holy Spirit Hospital check your blood pressure for free on the main level of the library.
